Taco Salad

I eat a salad everyday for either lunch or dinner. My fav salad dressings are Sweet Onion and Creamy Poppyseed (lite version) But I've been getting kind of tired of those. My sister made taco salad the other week for us and made a delicious dressing for it. Taco sauce and mayo! So I decided to make taco salad this week and bought the taco sauce. Except I didn't add mayo and it was still delicious!! Best part is 1tbsp has 5 calories (compared at 30 for the sweet onion dressing) and no fat!

Taco Salad
lettuce
tomato
peppers
grated cheese
sprinkle of taco seasoning
Taco sauce!

Yummy yummy!

August 11!

Triathlon is only 4 weeks away! Time to get my butt in gear!

I want to keep track of my times/food etc so I am going to be posting it on here. It's a little extra motivation for me!

Today I did my second brick. Which was a whole lot better than the first attempt. A brick is when you bike and then run right after. It's called a brick because it feels like that's what your quads are made of. The first brick I did was the first time I rode the 20 km. It was also 30+ degrees out and windy like it always is in SoAb.
I got off my bike ready to run and I could not get my legs to cooperate. It was the weirdest feeling and was also really frustrating. I didn't like that I couldn't control how my body was moving. Anyways, today was better. I biked 16km and then ran the 5km. The first few minutes of the run were rough but the feeling went away and I found my pace.
I am not worried about doing the run at all. I am however nervous for the swim and the hill on the bike. ( it's a monster!)

I am going to do 2 of each event every week. So swim twice, bike twice and run twice. With 1 brick and 1 day off. I am also going to strength train 2-3 times a week. Which brings me to

bodyrock.tv!

I was going to post a picture of the main girl but decided against it haha! This website is amazing! 12 minute tough workouts! ALL FREE! They post a new work out everyday I think and some yoga stuff. The girl however is very proud of her new pair of inflatables and must not have the money to buy herself some new bras to accommodate them. But
it is still a kick butt workout! Check it out!

Review

I have always worn 2 bras when I work out. A regular one and a sports bra. But for the triathlon in August I didn't want to have to do that. Biking and running in 2 soggy bras sounded really gross to me! So I researched and read probably a couple hundred reviews in the last month trying to find the best one! I finally decided on the Shockabsober Run bra and I am so glad that I did!

Greatest workout purchase to date! I got mine in black. The straps are padded and super comfortable and it is a 0 bounce bra!

* I shopped around for the best price and eventually bought it off Amazon.

Perfect Snack!

I wish I could take a better picture and show just how delicious these little snack bags are!

I got the idea from my sister and it has been so much easier to enjoy fresh fruit now!

I just bought some of these and filled them full of grapes and blackberries, blueberries and raspberries! The whole basket (which is from the dollar store) fits right into my fridge!

Yum Yum!

Corned Beef Pita Melt

This is my favorite lunch right now! It is so yummy!

1/2 whole wheat pita - 110 cal
1 tbsp light mayo - 40 cal
mustard - 0 cal
5 slices corned beef - 45 cal
15g cheddar cheese - 60 cal
15g tomato - 3 cal
1/2 cup lettuce - 7.5 cal

Total = 265.5

I put the mayo mustard beef and cheese in the pita and put in the oven until the cheese is melted then I add the lettuce and tomato. The pita gets a little crispy and melted cheese always tastes like a treat!

You can add a cup of soup, some 100 cal thinsations or whatever else to bring your meal up to 400 calories. Yum yum!
